Workshops & INSET Days in the Wirral

SEASON TO BE CHEERFUL is a programme of work we are running for the third year in succession, following four successful deliveries of the programme in 2005 and 2006 with Formby, Birkenhead and Stoke, where over 3,000 children and young people took part in workshops and performance events. This year UV will deliver workshops and performance events throughout Birkenhead and the Wirral to 800+ children and young people. UV has partnered with Wirral Music Education to deliver Season To Be Cheerful and M Power for the last two years. This work will be completed in May 2008.

We delivered 24 workshops in schools across the Wirral. These workshops led us to perform various concerts. We were privileged to meet some very talented young people in the Wirral who auditioned for an upcoming event.

M POWER PROJECT: Staring October 05, Working with musicians from Arabic, Nigerian and Jamaican origin, creating new music and song, it is our intention to enable users to realise the rich legacies of their separate and combined music and singing cultures. As a part of this project, URBAN VOICE will also implement a training programme to help nurture existing and emerging musicians and singers.
