In October 2007 we introduced Lobi Koe, lingala for the word "Freedom," workshops in commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade. These were a great success and we have been asked to present these workshops again throughout 2008.

After successfully completing the M-Power Project funded by Youth Music Urban Voice have managed to continue the work created through M-Power with new partnerships in Birkenhead and the Wirral. This work from October 2005 through to May 2008 will include workshops, performances and inset training days with teachers. Urban Voice are delighted to be able to continue M-Power with the Wirral Music Education Service. Around 1,500 children will have the opportunity to be involved in singing and music making.

Urban Voice are promoting their Season To Be Cheerful Album in October 06 - The M POWER Songbook and CD will be available from September 06 – this songbook brings the creativity of Tyndale Thomas, Yvonne Shelton, Kadria Thomas and Olu Olaseinde from Nigeria and Abdul Salam Kheir from Lebanon who have put together songs and music that will encourage and inspire individuals of all ages to want to participate.
